Observational Drawing with my iPad

After some reluctance to embrace digital media, through researching artists such as David Hockney; creating work on my iPad is now a part of my everyday practice. It is just the same as creating work in the traditional sense, the only difference being that you draw with pixels instead of paint.
When I started using my iPad I used my finger to draw, which is great, but not so precise as the drawing point is obscured under your finger tip. I have now invested in a stylus and this has allowed me to create with more accuracy and in a more intuitive way.
As a part of my research process I have done a number of observational drawings to document the different ways people use outdoor spaces in Malta and Manchester. I recorded the ambient sounds in the places I observed, to help to immerse the viewer in the moment.
The video shows the process of working on the iPad using the Procreate application. I like this application as it allows you to create work in layers, similar to Photoshop or illustrator. I am still learning the various effects you can create with the various brushes and tools available....but I never had this much fun learning. I highly recommend the iPad to any budding artists out there.
